Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Market Research Tool ("the Application") accesses, uses, stores, protects, shares, and deletes information when an authorized user connects the Application to Google Ads through Google's OAuth authorization flow.
1. Purpose of the Application
Market Research Tool is an internal market-research and keyword-research application. Its Google Ads integration is used to obtain keyword-planning information through the official Google Ads API for research requested by an authorized user.
The Application is not a public advertising platform and is not intended for unrestricted consumer access.
2. Google services and authorization
The Application uses Google's OAuth 2.0 authorization flow to request access to the Google Ads API. Authentication is handled by Google. The Application does not ask for, receive, or store the user's Google password.
The Application requests Google Ads authorization only so that it can perform the Google Ads API operations needed for the keyword-research functionality described in this policy.
3. Google user data and Google Ads data accessed
When an authorized user grants access, the Application may process the minimum Google Ads account context required to make authorized API requests and may retrieve keyword-planning information requested by the user.
This may include:
- Google Ads account/customer context required for authorized API access;
- keyword ideas generated from keyword seeds and, where supported, URL seeds;
- average monthly search-volume information;
- competition level and competition index;
- historical monthly search-volume values;
- top-of-page bid estimates and other keyword-planning metrics returned by the Google Ads API;
- technical metadata needed to record when and how a keyword-planning request was processed.
The Application is not designed to access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Photos, Google Calendar, personal contacts, or other unrelated Google services.
4. How Google data is used
Google Ads data obtained through the API is used only to provide the Application's market-research and keyword-planning functions. In particular, the data may be used to:
- generate and analyze keyword ideas;
- compare keyword search-demand and competition indicators;
- prepare local research datasets and exports requested by the authorized user;
- support reproducibility, caching, integrity checks, and diagnostics of research runs;
- maintain the security and reliability of the Application.
Google user data is not sold. It is not used for unrelated advertising, behavioral profiling, or to train general-purpose artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
5. OAuth tokens and authentication data
OAuth credentials and tokens used to authorize Google Ads API access are treated as confidential configuration data. They are stored separately from research exports and are not intentionally included in public pages, research reports, CSV exports, JSON exports, or other user-facing datasets.
Authentication tokens are used only to maintain the authorized Google Ads API connection.
6. Storage of research data
Keyword-planning results and related research metadata may be stored in the Application's controlled local environment so that research runs can be reproduced, resumed, validated, and exported.
The Application is designed to store sanitized and structured research records rather than unrestricted copies of arbitrary Google Ads API responses. Authentication secrets are kept separate from these research records.
7. Data sharing and disclosure
Google user data and Google Ads data obtained by the Application are not sold or rented to third parties.
Data may be disclosed only in the following limited circumstances:
- when the authorized user explicitly directs or requests an export or disclosure;
- when necessary to operate infrastructure used by the Application under appropriate safeguards;
- when required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request;
- when necessary to protect the security, rights, or integrity of the Application or its users.
8. Data retention
Google Ads research data is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the research purpose for which it was collected, for reproducibility of research runs, or for legitimate technical and compliance needs.
OAuth authorization information is retained only while needed to maintain the authorized integration. The authorized user can revoke the Application's access through their Google Account permissions at any time.
9. Data deletion
An authorized user may request deletion of data associated with the Application by contacting the support address below. Where technically applicable, locally stored research datasets, cached research records, and authorization data associated with the request will be deleted or rendered inaccessible, subject to any legal or security retention requirements.
Users may also revoke Google's OAuth authorization directly from their Google Account. After revocation, the Application will no longer be able to use the revoked authorization to access the Google Ads API.
10. Security measures
The Application uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss of data. These safeguards include separation of authentication secrets from exported research data, restricted access to local configuration, validation of persisted records, and controls intended to prevent credentials from being written to logs or research exports.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but reasonable measures are used to protect the information handled by the Application.
11. Limited audience
Market Research Tool is intended for explicitly authorized users. It is not designed as a general-purpose public consumer application.
12. Google API Services policy
The Application's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with applicable Google API Services policies and Google Ads API terms and requirements.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the Application, its Google Ads integration, legal requirements, or platform requirements change. The current version will remain publicly available at this URL and will display the date of the latest update.
